DANCE CLASSES OVERVIEW
We offer dance classes for adult groups aged 15 and up at all dance levels. The classes run 12-40 weeks long every year. Our professional dance instructors teach groups at the studio and on the Zoom website. Dance Groups will warm up, learn, and improve their dance techniques. They will also learn different dance routines and perform routines on videos at events anywhere.
We are not offering dance classes at this time. We will offer classes in the future.

POLICIES​
No class registration fee is required when registering for classes. You can sign up for dance classes at our dance organization during organization hours or at www.adultjazzandgroovedance.com/classes. After you complete the class registration form, select the “Submit” button to submit your registration form. Class Registrations are due September, January, and June 2nd.

Please call us at 301-349-6054 or email us at adultjazzandgroovedance@gmail.com to request to exchange classes or programs in person at the studio. No exchanging classes after October, February, or July 15th.
REGISTRATION CANCELLATION POLICIES
You must contact us at 301-349-6054 or adultjazzandgroovedance@gmail.com to request to cancel class registration during organization hours. No dropping classes after November, May, or July 15th. Registrations will be canceled if group classes have fewer than 3 members and private classes have no members.
We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, prepaid cards, and PayPal payments. Cash Payments are accepted online. Credit card, debit card, gift card, prepaid card, and PayPal payments are accepted during organization hours or at www.adultjazzandgroovedance.com/classes. After you complete the payment process, select the “Submit” button to submit payments. Weekly Payments are due every week no later than Saturday midnight. Monthly Payments are due every 2nd of each month. Drop-in-Class and Seasonal Payments are due when you sign up for dance classes. Yearly Payments are due every year no no later than Saturday midnight. Late fees apply to late payments paid after the payment deadlines. If no payments are received 10 days after the payment deadline, your class registration will be canceled because of the season. Once your registration is canceled due to failing to pay for classes, you cannot re-register until next season.

You must contact us at 301-349-6054 or adultjazzandgroovedance@gmail.com to request a refund during organization hours. You can also request a refund if you choose not to sign up for other classes if the current classes are canceled due to low enrollment. No refunds are given to anyone after November, May, or July 15th.
You must bring a valid receipt to our dance organization during business hours to request to exchange products, such as costumes. No exchanging costumes and other items after October, March, or July 15th.
CLASS PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
Health
You must stay home if you are sick with a cold or a flu. We advise you to attend classes virtually until you recover from any illness. Please provide a valid doctor’s letter indicating it is safe to return to classes.
Safety
No one can dance with an unhealthy weight or injured body parts. Please provide a valid doctor’s letter indicating it is safe to return to classes. No alcohol, drugs, or smoking products, such as marijuana, are allowed in classes at the studio. No weapons, such as guns, knives, or using other objects as weapons, are allowed at the studio. Only Law enforcement can have weapons. We are not responsible for deaths, illnesses, or injuries in classes at our studio. Anyone who brings these dangerous items will be arrested by law enforcement and banned from our organization and the studio forever. However, we will contract 911 emergency if any of these hazards occur in classes. We will cancel classes until further notice. Everyone must leave the studio together as an organization for safety reasons.
Closings
There are no classes during holidays, inclement weather, or emergency events. The studio will also be closed during these circumstances. We will contact everyone by email to discuss doing make up classes and closings.
Class Cancellations
If no instructor attends the sessions after 15 minutes after the sessions start, group sessions will be canceled for that day. Sessions will be canceled on that day if fewer than three students are in them. Private Sessions will be canceled on that day if no students are in them. We will contact everyone by email message about having group program session makeups.
Code of Conduct
Please respect each other regardless of anyone's background and views about situations. Bullying, harassment, rape, threats, and violence against anyone are unacceptable at our dance studio. We expect you to attend dance group sessions and events with a positive attitude and ready to dance. Report issues you have against anyone or anything to the Staff by email or phone or speak to them at the studio. All conflicts will be resolved in a professional manner that is fair for everyone.
Class Attendance Requirements
Level 1 (Beginner Level) Dance Groups must complete the beginner dance group programs before intermediate group programs. Level 2 (Intermediate Level) Dance Groups complete the intermediate dance programs before taking advanced group programs. Level 3 (Competitive or Professional) Dance Groups must take advanced group programs. All dance groups can take open-level dance programs.
Performance Group Opportunities
Our performance group programs are designed for serious and talented dancers passionate about dance, entertainment, and performance. Adult Jazz & Groove Dance Organization has adult, senior, and teen performance dance groups Our mission is to create a healthy, positive, safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where dancers can build confidence in themselves besides dancing, enhancing performance quality, growth as performers, and creative performance styles while participating in these dance programs. They will get involved in dance communities, build great relationships with others, and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle in these programs. The groups practice 4-6 hours and additional hours if needed 2 or 3 times a week, preparing to perform at events every week.​ Dance Groups perform 4 or 5 times at events like our seasonal showcases. Read the information below to learn more about joining performance groups.
Performance Group Participation Requirements

You must be aged 15 or older to do this opportunity.

No auditions require you to join any performance groups.

You must abide by policies to participate in any performance groups.

You must be an enrolled dance student to be in any group.

You can be any level dancer.

You must commit to any performance groups from September to June.

You may commit to any performance groups in the summer seasons besides the fall and spring seasons.

You need a dance background, but level 2 and 3 dancers need dance and performance backgrounds.

You must attend group sessions and practice 2 or 3 times every week.

You may be required to practice for at least 2 hours if needed.

Make sure you maintain good health to perform successfully in dance opportunities.

You are required to have good attendance at all times.​​

You must perform at least 3 events during the year.

You are required to perform all of our showcases at our dance organizations.

You must do at least 1 production number dance in all of our showcases.
Taking Dance Style Classes
​No dance background is required to take hip hop and tap dance groups. However, dance groups must have hip hop or tap dance backgrounds to participate in Level 2 or higher level hip hop or tap groups. We recommend that dance groups with ballet backgrounds join the jazz dance groups. Dance groups with ballet and jazz backgrounds are advised to participate in lyrical groups.
In-Studio Classes
You must sign the attendance sheet before going to classes. Please arrive at dance classes on time or earlier. Students will not attend classes if they arrive more than 15 minutes late. Please call us if you will be late for classes or have to miss any class one hour before classes start. Make sure you contact us to discuss doing make-up classes. Cell phones must be off except during break times. Cell phones can be used when attending Zoom dance sessions or playing music for dance choreographies. Keep drinks and food away from the classrooms and dance floors. Everyone must clean their mess before leaving the classrooms. It would help if you got your belongings when leaving classrooms.
Virtual Classes
​You must create a Zoom account or skip this step if you have one. Next, download the app from the "Apple Store" or "Google Play" or visit https://www.zoom.us/signup. Then, click the class link(s) from the "Zoom Class Schedules". Next, you type the meeting ID and password to log into the dance group sessions on your computer. If you use a mobile phone, type the password to log into the sessions. Make sure to arrive at virtual dance sessions at least 1 hour before group sessions start. No students can attend online sessions less than 1 hour before classes begin.

Dress Code Policies
You must wear active or dance clothes and dance shoes for group sessions. All clothes and shoes must have appropriate images or words that send a positive message to everyone. You must wear dance or regular sneakers for hip-hop sessions. Lyrical, private, and performance groups required students to wear non-specific dance shoes. The instructors will tell you what dance shoes you must wear for Lyrical, private, and performance group sessions. You must wear tap dance shoes for tap sessions. Hair must be away from the face for safety reasons during group sessions. Small jewelry and watches can only be worn in classes for safety reasons. We recommend that you wear contact lenses if you wear eyeglasses daily.
Photos and Video Releases
​We post Photos and Videos on our website, printed materials, YouTube Channel, and other places. We never publish anyone's information on photos and videos without their permission or written consent.
