Finding the right adult dance programs to meet your needs is not easy. Everyone deserves to dance in God's and Jesus' way, in addition to their way. Joy Timmons decided to establish the Adult Jazz & Groove Dance Organization in 2023. We are here to bring unlimited dance opportunities for adult dancers from all backgrounds who love to dance in a fun, healthy, non-competitive, safe, supportive, and welcoming environment anywhere. We are excited to see everyone live their dreams.

JOY TIMMONS-FOUNDER & INSTRUCTOR

 Joy has danced for 39 years in the arts and entertainment industry worldwide. She trained at the College of Southern Maryland, Dance Expressions Inc., Linda Natoli's Studio of Dance & Gymnastics, and Towson University in Maryland. Joy learned and performed dance styles, such as ballet, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, musical theater, pom, tap, and technique. 

 

Joy has a master's degree in business administration and education from Ashford University (The University of Global Campus) and a dance teacher certification from the Dance & Gymnastics Organization. Joy danced with many dance groups at several organizations, such as Bowie State University Talent Shows, Dance Expressions' Annual Showcases, and Mt. Ennon Baptist Church Sunday Worship Services in Maryland.

 

She won 1st and 2nd place for dancing a great solo hip hop and jazz dance at the Accotink Academy Talent Shows in Virginia. Joy and Linda Natoli's Senior Company Teammates won 2nd place for performing an excellent jazz dance at the King's Dominion Dance Competition Festival in the same state.

 

At age 21, she became interested in teaching many styles to everyone worldwide. Joy taught dancers from many backgrounds, including ballet, creative, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, and tap dance, at Encore Baton & Dance Studio, Little Busy Bee Early Learning Center, Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex, The Red Door Studio, and the YMCA in Maryland. Joy looks forward to dancing with everyone, like her future at the Adult Jazz & Groove Dance Organization.
